Chicago Bulls Dominate In Season Opener

The NBA season tip off for the Chicago Bulls went just as planned. The Bulls faced off against a struggling New York Knicks team who is still in search of an identity. The Knicks, who is ran by first time coach Derek Fisher, operates on a triangle offense which the team is still attempting to learn. The Chicago Bulls defeated the Knicks by a score of 104-80 on their home floor in Madison Square Garden. The Knicks looked good in the first quarter but completely fell apart in the second half. The hype of the game was for the return of Derrick Rose, who is finally looking like him old self from the MVP season. Derrick Rose scored 13 points, which was enough because the Bulls as a team provided ample scoring to accommodate each other. Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson destroyed the post combining for 43 points and 19 rebounds. Overall, the Bulls looked really good and is projected by some to reach the Eastern Conference Finals and possibly win it all this season. The Bulls must remain healthy to make this run and keep their supporting cast together. Jimmy Butler, missed the Bulls season opener due to a thumb injury in a preseason game. The newly found bench mob was in full effect as the Bulls bench routed the Knicks bench which led to this blowout win. The Chicago Bulls will host the Cleveland Cavs at the United Center on Friday, October 31, 2014.
