My Favorite Landmarks In Bronzeville
I have lived in the Bronzeville community for 7 years and I really enjoy it. This community has meant so much to me even before I decided to live within it. The photos I decided to take where schools, hospitals, youth centers, and churches. Bronzeville is a neighborhood located in the Douglas and Grand Boulevard community areas on the South Side of the City of Chicago. All the photos I took are important because it is what make this community so great. Among the twelve landmark photos, there are three that stands out to me. The first landmark is The Elliott Donnelley Youth Center. As a young boy, my mother and father, enrolled my siblings and I, into their summer program just about every year. This youth center helped mold me from a young boy into a teenager because the mentors were incredible. I learned how to swim, play basketball, learned arts & crafts, and much more. The next landmark is Dunbar Vocational Career Academy. I graduated High School here and this place prepared me for the real world. The great thing about this school is that the vocational program prepare students to learn trades beginning their Junior year. I enrolled in Radio/TV broadcasting and it helped landscape exactly what I wanted to do. This is a great program for students who attends Dunbar high school. My final landmark is Mercy Hospital & Medical Center. This place is very special to my family because they have a great eye clinic, which helped save my fathers vision. Dr. Green, is the Ophthalmologist who performed surgery and helped my father correct his blurry vision. On the other hand, this hospital means so much to the community and has helped save many lives.
