High expections from Joe Maddon

The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series championship since 1908. For cubs fans, the curse seem as it will never end. The Chicago Cubs has seen their share of managers over the years. During my era as a Cubs fan, I have watched plenty of managers come and go. The list includes, Jim Riggleman, Don Baylor, Dusty Baker, Lou Piniella, and a few horrible seasons by managers I chose not to mention. Then there is the new hire Joe Maddon, who is regarded as one of the best managers in all of baseball. Joe Maddon, leaves the Tampa Bay Rays after nine seasons with six winning seasons and a advancement to the 2008 World Series. The 60-year-old Maddon was named the American League Manager of the Year in 2008 and 2011. Cubs president of baseball operations, Theo Epstein, believes Maddon will be a good fit and will turn the franchise around. Joe Maddon was introduced as the Cubs Manager in this press conference on 11-3-14.
